Overall responsibilities:
Promote and drive sales of multiphoton, super resolution, advanced confocal, and other laser-based imaging products. Be the primary support mechanism for laser-based system sales for the Bioscience Sales Specialists (BSSs) and Advanced Imaging Specialists (AISs) in your region. Develop a sales plan with your regional sales representatives and management to achieve your budget. Primary product sales responsibility will focus on laser-based imaging systems in your region
Key areas of responsibility:
KEY SALES RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop a sales plan for the region that achieves your target budget with your local representatives and management, focusing on your primary product responsibilities of: multiphoton, super resolution, and advanced confocal
- Provide customer support, including training, for all advanced system products as needed
- Develop a training program for the BSSs and AISs in your area to enhance their sales skills and product knowledge
- Provide feedback to sales management regarding: competitive issues, sales success, sales challenges, and pricing
- Prepare pricing quotations for laser-based imaging systems in Salesforce
- Keep a current and accurate sales opportunity forecast in Salesforce
- Maintain knowledge of current applications and how Nikon products relate to customer solutions
- Maintain existing and develop new relationships with customers
- Provide expert-level demonstrations of laser-based imaging systems for customers as needed
- Give talks on laser-based imaging systems for customers as needed
- Work outside of normal hours of operation, as needed, in order to fulfill essential functions and responsibilities
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work with product management to improve the marketability of current and future technology
- Recommend improvements and provide feedback on current and future Nikon products
- Maintain an expert knowledge level of all products – particularly laser-based imaging solutions like multiphoton, super resolution, and advanced confocal systems
- Expert knowledge level of Nikon’s laser-based imaging products and how they relate to different customer applications
- Expert level of software knowledge and demonstration skills with NIS Elements – including complex acquisition sequences, macro support/creation, analysis tools, and product integration
- Advanced operating knowledge of computer hardware, software, and peripheral devices such as DAQ boards and 3rd party products
Ancillary responsibilities:
- Maintain proper reporting for expenses and consignment, in accordance with company policy and procedures
- Attend sales meetings, workshops, training events, and seminars, as required
- Maintain customer database in Salesforce
- Provide weekly or monthly reports as requested by management or headquarters

Qualifications:

- S. in Bioscience or related field
- D. preferred
- Current, valid Driver license
- Customer Service and/or Sales Experience Preferred
- Sales experience in scientific and optical instrumentation highly preferred, but not necessary.
- Hands-on experience with microscopy applications preferred
- Knowledge of Nikon-specific Instrumentation and Operation highly preferred
- Experience with MS applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
- Introductory programming experience a plus
- Advanced knowledge of computer hardware and software
- Preference for NIS Elements Software experience
- Strong knowledge of microscopy and scientific instruments
- Preference for high-performance imaging applications including confocal and super resolution
- Negotiation skills
- Mechanical aptitude for instrument assembly and integration
- Excellent communication skills; ability to communicate internally and externally, representing the Company professionally and effectively to customers and other external sources.
- Excellent presentation skills
- Ability to train and educate products to a diverse group of individuals
- Ability to lift and carry up to 40bs
- Ability to travel by car, public transportation, or air, overnight included, up to ~50% (varies by territory and project)
- Ability to routinely access and visit customer sites to evaluate needs, promote product or service product (Up to 90% field work at customer sites)
- Capability to prioritize and multi-task, managing multiple projects of varying magnitudes and velocities
- Ability to develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others in a team selling environment, and maintain them over time.
