We are currently looking for an Advanced Bio-Systems Application Scientist to provide technical expertise in all areas of advanced microscopy applications to support Nikon’s Product Marketing Division and Nikon’s Sales teams. They will act as the primary conduit for technical information and feedback between the end user, Scientific Partners, Nikon Imaging Centers, and Centers of Excellence, as well as our sales network. They will represent Nikon as an expert in product applications, product acceptance, competitive changes, required product improvements, new technologies and methodologies that impact Nikon's present and future business. Additionally, they will provide the Sales team with technical assistance on advanced bio applications to successfully satisfy customer's needs and complete sales, acting as a primary informational resource for emerging applications and technologies, by keeping current in the scientific literature. As an Applications Scientist, they will write scientific publications, present at symposia and meetings on application methodologies and emerging technologies, represent Nikon and our imaging technologies in courses and workshops demonstrating advanced techniques and applications in Bio-Science Imaging. Promote Nikon Instruments products and Applications, as well as Advanced Microscopy overall through Nikon’s Social Media accounts.

Ideal candidate must possess a Ph.D. in BioSciences, Bioengineering, or Physics with optics specialty and 8 + years experience in light microscopy, specifically in advanced BioScience technologies, including but not limited to, Super Resolution, Confocal Microscopy, TIRF microscopy. Candidate should have extensive knowledge of light microscopy and advanced Bio-Science technologies as well as extensive knowledge in optics, imaging and software applications. Excellent quantitative, presentation, verbal and written communication skills are essential to the success of this position. Travel up to 20% to fulfill Essential and Ancillary functions (includes overnight travel) is required.
