Advanced BioSystems Specialist (IL) (Code: 2101)

Overall Responsibility:

Promote and drive sales in Multiphoton, Super Resolution, Advanced Confocal and Imaging product. Be the primary support mechanism for the Advanced Imaging Specialists (AIS) in your region. Develop a sales plan with your regional sales representatives and management to achieve your budget. Primary product sales responsibility will focus on Multiphoton, Super Resolution, Advanced Confocal and Imaging solutions within the region.

Key areas of responsibility:

KEY SALES RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop a sales plan for the region that achieves your targeted budget and range of product mix with your local representatives and management, focusing on your primary product responsibilities of: Multiphoton, Super Resolution, Advanced Confocal and Imaging
  • Provide customer support for all products as needed.
  • Develop a training program for the AIS in your area to enhance their sales skills and product knowledge.
  • Provide feedback to sales management regarding: competitive issues, sales success, lost sales, pricing.
  • Prepare pricing quotations in Salesforce
  • Keep current and accurate sales opportunity forecast in Salesforce
  • Maintain knowledge of current applications and how Nikon products relate as a solution.
  • Provide customer training as necessary on products.
  • Maintain existing and develop new relationships with customers.
  • Provide customer demonstration on an expert level of products as listed above.
  • Work outside of normal hours of operation, as needed, in order to fulfill essential functions and responsibilities KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Work with Product Management to improve the marketability of current or future technologies.
  • Recommend improvements and provide feedback on competitive, Nikon’s current or future product.
  • Maintain an expert knowledge level of all products – particularly Multiphoton, Super Resolution, Advanced Confocal and Imaging solutions.
  • Expert knowledge level of Nikon’s confocal and super resolution products and how they each fit into a particular application.
  • Expert level of software knowledge and demonstration skills with NIS Elements – including complex acquisition sequences, macro support/creation, analysis tools, and product integration.
  • Advanced operating knowledge of current computer hardware software, and peripheral devices such as DAQ boards and 3rd party products.

Ancillary responsibilities:

  • Maintain proper reporting for expenses and consignment, in accordance with Company policy and procedures.
  • Attend sales meetings, workshops, training events and seminars, as required.
  • Maintain customer database.
  • Provide weekly or monthly reports as requested by management or headquarters.
  • All other duties as required or needed.

Qualifications:

  • Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • MS Outlook
  • Customer Relations Management Software, such asSalesforce.com
  • Advanced knowledge of computer hardware and software
  • Strong knowledge of microscopy and scientific instruments
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Ability to lift up to 25lbs
  • Ability to travel, overnight and possible international, 50%
  • Ability to work outside of regularly scheduled work hours as needed

Education, skills & experience:

  • 3-5 year’s experience in a scientific and optical instrumentation environment
  • BS in Bioscience field required
  • Ph.D. preferred
